Welcome to West Hanover Elementary!

West Hanover Elementary School is one of thirteen elementary schools in the Central Dauphin School District. No longer the oldest school building in the district, our brand new West Hanover Elementary opened at the beginning of the 2019 school year.  The new building is equipped with wireless access throughout, a modern Media Center, spacious gymnasium and art rooms, separate rooms for both instrumental and choral music instruction,  and a computer lab.  In addition, the building has 3 Collaborative Learning Areas (CLA) for group learning and activities.  Two playgrounds with brand new equipment are on site for fun at recess time.  We are also fortunate to have the WH Township maintained baseball fields behind us to provide much "open" space for recess, physical education, and other school events including our annual field day. Our custodial staff does a fabulous job maintaining a very clean building and surrounding area.

In addition to highly qualified classroom and special teachers, the West Hanover staff includes a full-time Guidance Counselor, full-time Reading Specialist, full-time Health room coverage, Speech and Language Clinicians, School Psychologist, Gifted Support teacher, Instrumental teacher (band and strings), Data and Instruction Specialist, and two Learning Support teachers.  Students in grades 1-5 participate in art, music, physical education and library one time per six day cycle.

We welcome parents to join our very active and supportive PTA here at West Hanover.  This hard working group of parents provides many educational as well as enjoyable activities for our students and their families!  Our students are truly the benefactors of the efforts of our PTA!
